Amplifying Women’s Voices for Water Justice-Youth Eco-Journalism Initiative

Six young women from Jordan’s rural heartlands have emerged as eco-journalists and environmental advocates through a targeted training initiative. Under the mentorship of a professional female journalist, they gained the skills to report on and document pressing environmental issues such as water scarcity and climate resilience. The participants produced investigative reports and multimedia content, shedding light on the lived experiences of communities and promoting environmental justice across local and national platforms.
Rebuilding Resilience through Nature in Wadi Al-Rattameh example

A community-led, ecosystem-based flood risk reduction initiative was launched to strengthen resilience in Azraq. The project focused on rehabilitating and protecting the ecosystem of Wadi Al-Rattameh by constructing water harvesting bonds and a leaky dam. These interventions effectively slowed down floodwaters, enhanced groundwater recharge, reduced sediment transport, and supported biodiversity regeneration.
